Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-HX1

Strengths: Light weight. Very easy to use even for amatures. The panoramic swoop function is out of this world.500 pics taken , all masterpices

Weakness: none

This camera is a master piece. The functions are all easily selected and every amature can master this camera by going through the hand book once only. Exceptional night shooting in "P" mode without using the flash

DSC Hx1

Strengths: Amazing Features ...Quality of images both still and Video. Fast.. double viewing and shooting option. Light and easy to handle. Feels very good in hand. Great battery. 20x opt.

Weakness: Lens cap falls off when you turn on the camera. Take it off first.

I purchased Aug 09)and took it on vacation. This camera can do much more than other smaller size cameras. Excellent video and stills.Sinks with sun to fill in the shadows. The flash can reach 20 feet.

Great device for amateur and up. User friendly with...

Strengths: Many photoshop type features built in. Very cool slide show transitions with music choices.

Weakness: Some consider the lens cover pop off a weakness, but I liked now worrying about whether or not I had taken it off.

Purchased my HX1 two weeks prior to a cruise vacation. Was fully into using it by the time we left and shot the best pictures of my life! Love take close ups with the "food" feature.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX1

THE GOOD: Fast; tiltable LCD; Hand-held Twilight mode produces better-than-average photos in low light; zooms during movie capture. THE BAD: Small EVF; no raw support; HDMI output requires dongle; no standard continuous-shooting mode. THE BOTTOM LINE: Tradeoffs abound in Sonys Cyber-shot DSC-HX1 megazoom: though its fast and has some really novel, useful features, it just doesnt deliver the photo...

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX1 Review

Our first look at the Sony Cyber-shot HX1 came nearly a year ago at PMA 2009. A lot can change in the camera world in nine months, but with the ability to fire off full-res frames at 10 fps, the HX1 hasnt lost much of its allure since then. With 1080p HD video and a 20x zoom lens, our tests proved it to be a veritable Swiss army knife of a midsize camera.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX1 Review

Sony took a different approach to maximizing the advantage of a CMOS sensor in a long zoom digital camera, while keeping the resolution low to keep expectations a bit more realistic. The result is the Sony HX1, a 20x zoom digital camera that can do what most consumers want -- get in close -- while delivering good 11x14-inch printed results. The Sony HX1's 20x zoom ranges from 28 to 560mm...

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX1 Review

The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX1 is a super-zoom camera with some rather unique features up its proverbial sleeve. These include a 20x zoom lens and 9 megapixel CMOS sensor, both of which utilise Sony's DSLR technology, 3 inch tiltable LCD screen, and fast 10fps burst shooting mode. Going up against the likes of the Canon Powershot SX20 IS, Panasonic FZ38 and Olympus SP-590UZ, we find out if the £480...

Camera Labs – Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX1 review

Sony’s Cyber-shot DSC-HX1 is a powerful super-zoom camera with some pretty unique features that allow it to stand out from the crowd. At the core is a flexible 20x optical zoom range taking you from 28mm wide-angle to serious 560mm telephoto, complete with effective image stabilisation. Round the back is a vertically-tilting 3in screen which allows you to easily compose at high or low angles....

DCRP Review: Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX1

The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX1 is a super zoom camera with a lot of unique and compelling features. Sony clearly put a lot of effort into giving the HX1 its top-notch burst mode, one-of-a-kind sweep panorama feature, and its two anti-blur modes. If they had spent some more time on image quality, then Sony would've really knocked one out of the park. Unfortunately, they did not -- the HX1's photo...
